What is FaceID?

Face ID is Apple’s facial recognition system for biometric authentication. It maps the geometry of a user’s face and stores the data securely on the device. Face ID can unlock the device, approve payments, and grant access to features. When used, it compares the stored facial data with the person trying to access the device.
