What is Graph-based directory services?

Graph-based directory services store identity data as a network of connected objects, such as users, groups, devices, and apps. Each object is a node, and relationships (like “member of” or “owns”) are edges. This model makes it faster to answer relationship questions and enforce access rules. Many such services expose a Graph API for applications to read and update identities and permissions.
