Centrify Identity Services

Centrify Identity Service was Centrify’s cloud identity (IDaaS) platform for SSO, MFA, and lifecycle features. In 2018, Centrify spun out this IDaaS business into a standalone company, Idaptive. In 2020, CyberArk acquired Idaptive; the service continues under CyberArk Identity with documentation covering SAML/OIDC/OAuth SSO and SCIM-based provisioning.

Key Capabilities

  • Standards-based SSO: Supports SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect, and OAuth 2.0 for application federation and custom integrations.

  • MFA & adaptive auth: Admin guides document MFA options and adaptive policies within the Identity platform.

  • App templates & catalog: Extensive catalog and templates for SAML/OIDC app SSO configurations in the Identity Administration portal.

  • Developer resources: Developer documentation covers OAuth 2.0 and OIDC app patterns and APIs.

Limitations

  • Lifecycle / rename: “Centrify Identity Service” is no longer offered under the Centrify brand. The IDaaS business became Idaptive (Oct 9, 2018) and is now CyberArk Identity (acquired May 13, 2020).

  • Brand divergence: The remaining Centrify assets merged with Thycotic and rebranded to Delinea (Feb 1, 2022), focused on PAM, not IDaaS/SSO.

  • Historical documentation: Centrify-branded Identity Service admin guides are largely unavailable publicly; current authoritative technical references are under CyberArk Identity.
