QuickLaunch

QuickLaunch is an Identity Provider (IdP) and WebSSO portal designed primarily for universities and colleges, enabling secure, centralized access to SaaS and on-premise applications. It supports a range of federation standards, including SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, CAS, and WS-Federation/WS-Trust and participates in InCommon, the U.S. higher-education identity federation.

Key Capabilities

• Standards-based SSO: Acts as a full federation IdP supporting SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect/OAuth 2.0, CAS, and WS-Federation/WS-Trust protocols—enabling single sign-on to cloud and on-premise applications (e.g., Microsoft 365, Canvas, Salesforce).

• Higher-ed ecosystem integrations: Includes a large library of prebuilt connectors for SIS, LMS, and HR systems, such as Ellucian Banner, Jenzabar, Workday, and Blackboard.

• Passwordless & MFA: Provides biometric login, mobile push approvals, security key–based authentication, and traditional OTP methods through the QuickLaunch app for enhanced login flexibility.

• Directory connectivity: Integrates with Active Directory, Google Workspace, and LDAP directories for user synchronization, identity federation, and group-based access policies.

Limitations

• SCIM provisioning scope: While automated provisioning is advertised, there’s insufficient public documentation confirming the presence of a standards-based SCIM 2.0 provider or consumer API (schemas, endpoints, or provisioning roles).

• Passwordless/FIDO2 verification: Product pages mention security key authentication, but native FIDO2/WebAuthn support and corresponding policy controls are not clearly documented.

• Documentation depth: Most available resources are marketing-oriented; there is limited visibility into technical specifications (token claims, metadata discovery, logout mechanisms). A proof-of-concept is advised for enterprise validation.
